Buried Letters is a game and spelling activity for students to play using their spelling list words that they are learning. It’s based on the game battleship. The game encourages students to look in detail about how different words are spelt and how to guess a word based on only a few letters from that word in the correct sequence. The game is a printable work sheet and great fun for primary and elementary students to play.

This is brilliant! I am using it for my AS English Language class as part of a session on how we teach literacy (aiding with understanding of Child Language Acquisition). Students will have a go at the activity and then we will discuss how this supports child literacy development.
