This activity requires the pupils to work out how many chairs can fit around different shaped tables in different arrangements. they must apply their knowledge of nth term rules to find how many chairs can fit around 'n' tables. Then use their rules to find which arrangement of tables can sit a certain number of people.

Nice activity based on an obviously practical situation. Lends itself nicely to extension and investigative work.
