Often Tarsia is used to create simple match-up activities, but there is so much more potential to use the software to produce rich learning opportunities for students. Gill Hillitt has done exactly that with this fantastic resource. It consists of both a Tarsia and a supplementary worksheet. On the More…supplementary sheet there are 6 sets of data presented in a variety of ways, including stem and leaf diagrams and a histogram, and students must interpret these data sets in order to match up the jigsaw. This adds a new depth to the use of Tarsia, moving away from simple matching exercises.
