In KS2 Design and Technology, a fun example of how one teacher brings the topic of bridges to life is shown when her class are challenged to design and build one entirely out of food.

It's Brunel Week at Stoke Bishop Primary School, Bristol and Year 5/6 class teacher Irene Harrison tackles ‘bridges’. She takes her pupils on a visit to Clifton Suspension Bridge, then sets them to work on an on-line set of interactive bridge-building tasks.

Helped by parent governor and bridge engineer, Nigel Fletcher, they embark on their challenge of building model food bridges.

Is there any way of finding out the software used to build the bridges online? The teachers.tv link is no longer available. Thanks

A nice, novel way of introducing the topic of bridges and structures without relying on a text book or powerpoint.
