In ‘State of the Unions 2007’, education journalist and broadcaster, Mike Baker, talks to Steve Sinnott, General Secretary of the National Union of Teachers, at the union's annual conference in Harrogate.

They discuss the issues debated at the conference and the challen More…ges that lie ahead. Topics include a strike ballot on teachers' pay, opposition to the new diplomas and the launch of a charter on promoting the achievement of black Caribbean boys.

Please note, since this programme was first broadcast, Steve Sinnot has sadly died.
