An alluring jewellery shop, a ghostly graveyard and a tunnel with a warning are just three of a series of seven exciting story starts, in primary Lesson Starters.

Designed for Key Stage 1 and 2, these seven story starts are designed for teachers to use on their interac More…tive whiteboards. Each story start is a short but dramatic video clip that will fire children’s imaginations to continue the story into creative writing.

Advisor and deputy head, Simon Botten, introduces the video and gives some tips on how best to use these resources.

Fabulous resource for brain storming and starting new stories. We've had some great discussion around each clip. Those who can't play the clip, I suggest you either try Google Chrome and/or download the clip.

I use this every year and do a lesson on brainstorming and creative writing based on each clip. I find it annoying that it has been rated 1 by some people who can't get it working. If there is a problem with your browser, there is always the three download links underneath!
