Fantastic video resources. Our year 5 and 6 students are completely engaged in writing thanks to these story starters. They have made such an impact on student writing that I have shared this strategy with staff of younger students who are now using them as well.
The discussions we have as small groups and as a class help meet Talking and Listening outcomes and we use thinking strategies to build up a scaffold for writing. The opportunities from these simple 90 second video clips is amazing!

I think this is a wonderful way to get kids to have a go at writing Narrative especially great for students who face the dilemma of "what am I going to write" and also as mentioned a great way to focus in on partucular structures which you want to explicitly teach. Thanks
