Stephen Farthing presents 8 practical classes using John Ruskin's teaching collections to explain the basic principles of drawing. In this lesson, he explores how an artist can use tone, light, dark and the shades in-between to create illusions of volume and depth. Organised into short, manageable chunks, these videos could be integrated into a series of lessons or set as homework/ independent study.
