The Jesse Tree dates back to the Middle Ages. It originated in Europe in connection with Mystery Plays. The use of a Jesse Tree during the Advent season is a great way to ‘show and tell’ the story in which the ‘coming’ (advent) of Jesus is the culmination. This resource suggests a story for every da More…y of Advent and provides accompanying symbols which can be decorated and used to hang on the Jesse Tree/branch.
