Talk about properties of light. Introduce terms transparent, translucent & opaque & find out what they mean by investigating different materials using a light source. Shine torches through cardboard combs & tubes and explain findings. Make shadow puppets. Suitable for Y3 pupils.

Some nice ideas for exploring transparency with a year 3 class. The extra resources help a lot if you are pushed for time.
