This works really well as an activity to enliven locus/loci constructions for year 10/11s. More great lesson ideas at www.ibmathsresources.com. Students need to be able to find equidistance between lines and angles using compasses. Each completed clue will give a coordinate point - and so a number. They write their completed 7 digit number in the box to win the treasure! ANSWER 1) D5 2) G18 3) K16 4) J8 5) P8. So 7 digit number = 5181688. Measure from the base of all trees. Measure from the top of mountains. 1cm=1m. If the line intersect crosses 2 boxes choose the largest.
