We put a twist on this unit by using: My Mum and Dad Make Me Laugh and A Lion in the Meadow, combined with a section on superheroes, great for reluctant readers. Children explore story structures and use role-play as motivation when writing their own stories.

A great resource thank you. Have been teaching Y6 for seven years and now have a class of Year 2s! Began to get to grips with phonics last Half Term and did some great literacy work using superheroes stories but this will be really useful now.
