Using a range of poems about families and chn in familiar settings chn explain preferences, outlining their thinking about different authors’ work. Chn explore rhyming and alliteration and create their own text outlining what little boys and girls are made of.

A huge amount of hard work has gone into this planning. I find teaching Poetry quite challenging and this has refreshed my bank of ideas - thank you for taking the time to share these plans and resources - wonderful!

A lovely personal topic that the children will enjoy talking about. A mix of new ideas and old fashioned rhymes.
