I tried to tie this unit with our topic on World War 2. We spent the first week reading text and watching animations / films with flashbacks. In the second week we used the book 'My Uncle's Dunkirk' by Mike Manning as a stimulus for writing about flashbacks. This then provided the structure for thei More…r own flashbacks in the third week. Talk for Writing techniques had a fantastic impact on the quality of the children's writing.
