Yr 1/2 Poetry Unit 2A Pattern and Rhyme

Using the wonderful book Augustus and his Smile, chn are stimulated to write patterned poems, to use onomatopoeia and to produce rhyming couplets. Following a traditional patterned dance poem, they write and perform their own version based on the book.

A detailed lesson plan that covers different types of poem. Children also can use the PDF to extend their knowledge of following instructions. A good resource.
