This Unit begins with a story about catching a star, which is used as a starting point for reading and writing descriptive poems on the theme of stars and the moon. Chn discuss their own experiences, extend vocabulary, and write their own poems.

This planning was excellent for use on my first placement as a trainee - I slightly adapted it to use with my Year 2 class, who produced much lovely work over the unit and developed their understanding of poetry - thank you for your help!
