This is an 8-week unit of work for Art that focuses on the work of Ray Lonsdale. It is primarily aimed at Key Stage 2 but can be adapted for other year groups. This unit of work focuses on understanding that a sculpture can be created by the removal of material as well as adding material and combining wire sculpture and papier mache to create a more robust piece. The children can experiment with different materials to add detail to their sculpture.
The children in my class really enjoyed creating their 3D sculptures that related to World War.
