BTEC Tech Award HSC Component 1 Introduction 2023-2024

BTEC Tech Award Level 1/2 Health and Social Care Spec has changed for September 2022 and although similar to the previous spec, there are changes in key content and the assessment. I am currently following my Scheme of Work and developing the resources for each week, starting with an introduction to the basics for all new options students who have not come across Health & Social Care before.
If you are following my SoW 2023-2024, this is Week 1 is the introduction to the life stages name and ages, what is meant by growth and development and how these changes over time covering the holistic aspects physical, intellectual, emotional and social (PIES)
The content delivery once you start is of a pace has to be reasonably fast to get the content delivered in time for the Person Set Assessment (PSA) assessment window.
However, for Week 1 there is time to do more tactile fun activities to get them started and an overview of the qualification if students have yet to see this at an options event.
To get them into the habit there is a gapped handout homework task which is suitable for both Level 1 and Level 2 students and will require them to revisit the work they completed in the lesson.
