I use this with students working in pairs with mini-whiteboards - the first pair with the correct translation gets 2 points, all other correct answers get 1 point, i reveal the German after all boards have gone up.

Unfortunately, the grammar is incorrect. In German you cannot say "Wenn ich der Schulleiter wäre, ich würde keine Schuluniform haben". It has to be "Wenn ich der Schulleiter wäre, würde ich keine Schuluniform haben" The same for the rest of the examples. Nice idea, but it's wrong.

This is so simple but highly effective! I love the way you have combined the conditional with verb conjugation and word order. Many, many thanks!

Thank you. The idea for the pair work is an inspiration.

Thank you. Thank you - I'm going to use this in my forthcoming observation to see if I can finally get some brownie points.

LIFE SAVER. Thank you so much - this is brilliant and sums up the subject perfectly. Great even for my A2 students - bright, colourful and accurate. Well done for sharing it.
