Brilliant tried, tested an loved by all full lesson plan to teach maths Year 3 objective for identifying parallel lines in 2D shapes. This plan includes an excellent WOW lesson introducing parallel lines as a property where the children get learn through taking on the role of a detective. They have to use the properties learnt from the chief inspector (teacher) in the whole class teach to help them to identify parallel lines hiding in shapes scattered around the classroom. I have used this year after year and even went as far as giving the children the science lab coats to get them into character. THEY LOVED IT! Differentiated work sheets provided to evidence the practical activity enabling all to learn, enjoy and progress. Detailed differentiated planning included. Also includes 'types of lines in shapes' for working wall for children to refer to during independent work and future learning experiences.

Brilliant for encouraging and implementing fun practical learning through maths!
