I made this resource for the 2020 LGBT History Month, aimed at Year 10 students for delivery during a language lesson. Its focus is encouraging students to empathise while also using their essential reading and writing skills.
The resource uses an extract from Lyra McKee’s ‘Letter to my 14 year old self’ published by the LGBT History Month charity.
The lesson has activities focused on both reading and writing elements of the GCSE English language paper. It could last one or two lessons, depending on delivery.
