This lesson is designed to inspire children to become history detectives. Using a range of 'lost property' items, contained in bags and suitcases, children learn to piece together clues to gain an understanding of the kind of person they belonged to. An excellent starting lesson for any history topic. The presentation introduces the idea of looking for clues, looking at two different rooms to think about what kind of person lives there.

In with the detailed lesson plan there is a sheet with differentiation for lower ability pupils, a rationale and learning objectives which are linked to the new NC. Has been used very successfully to introduce Romans but would work equally well with other topics

This lesson was graded outstanding when I taught it! Good luck!
