A free taster of our Roman Legends - Escape to Pompeii Writing unit. This lesson helps children to recognise, and use, prepositions in a sentence.

Prepositions are important when constructing sentences. A preposition sits before a noun to show the noun’s relationship to another word in the sentence.

This lesson has detailed planning, PowerPoint and all resources provided. This lesson is also differentiated three ways. Great to use as a one off lesson or as part of the full unit that you can find here:

L.O: Use prepositional phrases.
Success Criteria:
I have identified a range of prepositions.
I have used prepositions.
I have used prepositional openers.

Lower children will be supported with sentence scaffolds that they can place together to make a silly sentence.
