Menus are a great alternative to the conventional homework assignments. Students have the freedom to choose the tasks they want to complete within a certain period of time. The rules are:
1.At least one task per column has to be completed;
2.If students complete a task and do not get the maximum possible number of points, they will be given opportunities to improve it without penalty;
3. A minimum of 180 points must be completed by the end of the Term (this is just a suggestion).
4. Work is submitted to the teacher by email (as an attachment), given in class in a USB or printed out.
5. Free-choice suggestions should be submitted to the teacher in advance for approval - they can be videos, posters, skits, songs, letters, biographies, etc.
This homework system focuses on differentiation and promotes independence and responsibility.
