2 separate Pirate Adventure word mats - one suitable for KS1 & the other for KS2. These story mats are designed to spark off ideas in children and to give them more confidence to write independently. They should also help to extend their vocabularies. The mats are in PPT format so they can be displayed on the white board and the picture and vocabulary discussed together. They can also be printed out so that children have their own copies. Children could be challenged to use at least one word from each box in their story. The children can then plan their stories and begin writing. A story planning sheet is provided. Everything is fully editable so you can change it to suit your children.
