This unit is a series of six lessons and all resources for the UC Salvation Unit “Why do Christians call the day Jesus died Good Friday?” These lessons are based on UC CORE LEARNING planning.

Each lesson starts with a sticky knowledge retrieval quiz and vocabulary activity.
Activities include a look at different crosses representing different parts of Holy Week; Bible readings of key events of Holy Week and Mary’s reactions; Mary Holy Week emotion chart; Mary diary entry about Holy Week; discussion on Christian and non-Christian reactions to Holy Week; church flyer task; Easter Sunday video and questions; Holy Week freeze frame activity; independent research on Holy Week; poster design; emotion matching task; triptych designing; class poem; Good Friday cross activity; and a group presentation bringing together all learning on the big question Why do Christians call the day Jesus died Good Friday?

Lessons include videos, group/partner discussion, group tasks, individual tasks and making links to children’s own lives. All resources are included, and there is a printing requirement list for the whole unit. Please note - the SMART and PowerPoint contain the same content, but you need Notebook software to open SMART.

Would be even better if there was a separate lesson plan
