This RE SMART and PPT is a series of six lessons and all resources based on RE planning for the unit “Why do some people believe God exists?”
Each lesson starts with a sticky knowledge retrieval quiz and vocabulary activity.
Activities include a religious belief sorting task; exploring reasons why people do or do not believe in God; a wanted poster based on metaphors for God in the bible; task based on Maimondies’ idea of what God is not; devising questions about God for a Christian and an atheist; homework family belief task; fact, belief and opinion activity; truth continuum task; newspaper article activity looking at good and bad news as evidence of God’s existence; nature treasure hunt; creation story group discussion; Big Bang Theory debate; balanced argument big write answering the question “Is God real?”

Lessons include videos, group/partner discussion, group tasks, individual tasks and making links to children’s own lives. All resources are included, and there is a printing requirement list for the whole unit. Please note - the SMART and PowerPoint contain the same content, but you need Notebook software to open SMART.
