This RE SMART and PowerPoint is a series of five lessons and all resources based on RE planning for the unit “What does it mean to be a Hindu in Britain today?” Please note that this resource is the first five lessons of the unit which is intended to be taught over two terms (See “What does it mean to be a Hindu in Britain today?” PART TWO for the next five lessons). However, each unit could be used as a stand alone unit.
Each lesson starts with a sticky knowledge retrieval quiz and vocabulary activity.
Activities include an “All about Me” jigsaw task; puja tray drawing and labeling activity; Bhajan response exercise; Hindu belief group presentation; journey to school task; journey through life group and individual task; ten duties Dharma acting and drawing activity; and Dharma explanation paragraph.

Lessons include videos, group/partner discussion, group tasks, individual tasks and making links to children’s own lives. All resources are included, and there is a printing requirement list for the whole unit. Please note - the SMART and PowerPoint contain the same content, but you need Notebook software to open SMART.
