A very popular version of a game I was introduced to on a course a few years ago (I have forgotten the course) that I always use to introduce percentage multipliers. This is NOT my original idea but I did create this lesson plan to deliver it.

Ask the students to choose the order to turn over red and black cards in order to make money.
They start with £100.
A red card gives them half of their money on top of what
A black card takes half of their money.

It leads to an interesting discussion about percentage multipliers and the nature of multiplication.

You will need 5 ‘red cards’ and 3 ‘black’ cards to use as props though the colours are not important.

Feedback is welcome and appreciated.
