Roald Dahl - 8 Week Planner

This planner was compiled for use with a very able P1/2 composite class however I am sure it would be an excellent skeleton for adaption further up the school. I worked a rotation based learning enviroment and had 8 ‘stations’ available over the course of each academic day with ‘must do’ jobs. I used this planner for 8 weeks with 8 different focus books and immersed the children in the activities for each book. My stations were

• Literacy (Language)
• Numeracy (Number)
• Design Technology/Expressive Arts (Creation)
• Play (Construction)
• Collaborative Learning (Floor)
• Science (Messy)
• Library (Silent)

The focus books for this planner are:

• Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
• Fantastic Mr Fox
• The Twits
• The Enormous Crocodile
• Matilda
• George’s Marvellous Medicine
• The BFG
• The GIraffe, the Pelly and Me

I am sure that this planner would be of use if even focusing on one of these great novels.
