Letter formation practice. Contains all letters of the alphabet in 3 different sized font, plus a join the dots picture on each page. Learning to form letters correctly can be a challenge for children, particularly those with visual perception challenges, fine motor skill difficulties, or additional sensory processing needs. Using these sheets, children can practise each letter on a larger scale, getting to grips with the shape and direction, before moving on to tracing the smaller letters.

Year 1 English planning based around the story Monkey Puzzle. The children loved this book and enjoyed retelling different parts of the story per lesson. Jack and the Beanstalk Talk for Writing Reception EYFS planning Spring 1 term 3 week unit

These lessons were planned for a series of 4 EYFS English lessons, but could easily be adapted for Year 1 children. The first lesson focuses on introducing the story and the children talking and writing about their own bedtime routines. The second lesson encourages children to retell the story using words and actions before sequencing the story using pictures and sentences. The third lesson takes the children outdoors as they change the setting of the story to Mr Bear trying to get to sleep in his tent in the woods. Children go on a sound walk to identify sounds which might keep Mr Bear awake. The final lesson encourages children to write their own simple story of Peace at Last with the new setting of the 'the woods'. If you do not have access to woodland, other outdoor areas could be used. All activities are differentiated and engaging. Hope your children enjoy them as much as mine. The sequencing pictures have been taken from the story Peace at Last by Jill Murphy.

This resource provides a range of activities to develop fine motor skills, designed with learners with severe learning difficulties in mind. It is by no means exhaustive, but covers a range of activities to develop discrimination of left and right, hand-eye coordination, crossing the mid-line, in-hand strength, finger and in-hand manipulations, finger isolation skills, grasps, releases, pencil control skills, early drawing skills and early letter formation skills.

I plan on laminating these so children can put pasta, foam, sand, or just use whiteboard pen to go over the outlines of all Phase 2 and Phase 3 singular sounds. Includes RWI ditties for letter formation & has picture relating to the ditty/sound. Note: g, f, y, j are not included as we don't do the exit strokes so I plan to just do these myself with pen. I have uploaded two sets of lower case letters a to z to be printed onto card paper and laminate. A lovely addition to your Alphabet/Phonic station. Aimed at EYFS/Year 1, EFL/ESL students Children practise moulding dough on top of the letters with dough/ plasticine. Children practise writing inside the letters with different colour drywipe pens. Print out as many times as you like - children can draw pictures beginning with the name of the letters. Opportunity to use as a teaching resource showing children how to form lower case letters.
