Using the Mini Grey book Traction Man and based on some T4W techniques.
Weeks are based on 4 sessions
Week 1 - includes gathering vocabulary, inference and drawing a story map.
Week 2 - includes grammar skills lessons using Traction Man.
Week 3 - includes using the structure to create their own adventure and writing up their story.
This resource includes images for the colour monster story using real images from the story itself. The resource includes images of ‘happy, sad, calm, angry, scared, love and confused.’ This resource could be used to retell the story, to discuss emotions and feelings or in a calm corner or tinker box. I created this checklist to keep track of my Year 1 class and any gaps in phonic knowledge. It is helpful to track progress of any children who you are giving 1:1 RWI tutoring as well as being suitable for the whole class.
Helpful when choosing sounds to focus on leading up to phonics screening.
