Activity created for primary SEN group. Children cut and pasted a map of the continent and a picture of that continents animals into the appropriate box. Some animal pictures are on a map of the continent to give children a visual clue - because of this I gave them the strip of maps and the strip of animal pictures separately to avoid confusion. I let the children cut out their pictures themselves to promote fine motor skills.
A collection of resources which can be used by KS1 students as part of changes within living memory - transport topics. Includes types of transportation, day trips, the moon and solar system and space travel.
My aim was to bring in a bit of my modern foreign languages background when teaching my special education class. It is Autism friendly - as there is a clear sequence/structure and lots of visual support. The idea is to ‘visit’ countries around the world, learning facts - using English skills for reading, comprehension and writing; learn some simple language, and sample the culture. This is an example - I hope you like it - if you do, check out my bundles, Europe and Asia!

Hi all,
A couple of students in my class are able to sit on the map but not able to access all of the classwork, this is the UK unit adapted for SEN, 9 pages in total. Work could be independent cut and stick or hand over hand. There is also opportunity for highly scaffolded writing.
Hope its useful,
Vicky
A simple introductory PowerPoint into Brazil and the Amazon Rainforest. I have embedded a video. If it doesn't play I have uploaded it separately. All supported with Widgit Symbols.
A short scheme of work on Indonesia. Targeted at low ability (SEN) year 7 but easily adapted (with some differentiation worksheet options included and suggestions offered). It could work well for primary students as well as KS3. This covered about 10 lessons and was easily extended by using additional tasks - again, some suggested. The unit explores the basic physical geography of Indonesia and looks at tectonic plates leading to a bit of research on the 2004 tsunami. The created some lovely work from this that resulted in a colourful display. The students also read Running Wild alongside completing this task.
