The unit builds on previous skills of sending and receiving a ball and moves on to developing tactics for game play. Also includes assessment windscreens to support teachers when assessing PE. 4 Stations/task cards for individual gymnastics balances. Useful in a lesson on balance or routines and great for independent work.There is a standing balances station, a kneeling and sitting balances station, a inverted balances station and a support balances station. There are enough balances on each station card to cater to complete beginners and for experienced gymnasts. Colour and black and white versions included (to save on ink). Recommendations for use: Set up 4 different stations around the room and give students set times on each station then move them on (think circuit) Split the group into 4 and give each group a station card - swap them over as needed Place the balances in a central position and get students to pick on balance from each station that they should link together into a short sequence Give to a non doer for them to see if their peers are accurately replicating the balances Need other gymnastics balances? Basketball lay up task sheet including lay up challenge and coaches questions as well as basic technique. Students start standard warm up by dribbling and shooting at 6 different baskets. Students on teachers instructions count their scoring percentage (Max 100%). Students get into ability groups depending on shooting scores from last lesson. These will be made up of 3-4 students. Teacher asks students in their group to answer how many different basketball shots they can name? Set shot, fade away, drunk, lay up What is the most used and most successful shot in the NBA? Lay up Why is this? Fastest and closest way to the basketball hoop, hard to defend against without conceding a foul. Teacher demonstrates lay up technique up to stage 4. Students attempt lay up moving up to stage 4. Students write names on resource card.
