Celebrating Differences Assembly!

(0)
This fun and original assembly aims to assist children in celebrating the differences between themselves and others, through: -Understanding how diversity is needed in the world; -Recognising and valuing the differences in their own school; -Considering how kind words can help us to unite together. I love leading this assembly, because I feel that the key message within it is so vital, especially in the present climate. More importantly, wherever I have presented this (to a wide-range of students from a wide-range of contexts) it has always gone down extremely well, with students being extremely engaged and informing me of the different ways in which they have celebrated differences in the months that follow! The slides are visually engaging and well-presented, and the subject matter is tailored to the interests and needs of young people. For example, there are references to Prince Harry, Emma Watson, and others in popular culture, to help engage the children in the idea that each individual has their own strengths, weaknesses, like and dislikes, no matter who they are or how successful they appear. There is also an exciting ‘toothpaste challenge’ included, which demonstrates the importance of ensuring that our words to others are kind and respectful. The challenge includes a hyperlink to a countdown clock. In addition to this, all other resources that you will need are provided in the pack. The slides are fairly self-explanatory, but I’ve included guidance notes to assist the speaker. Hope that you find this useful!

This colorful Growth Vs Fixed Mindset Wall Display will encourage a growth mindset in your classroom. They make a perfect reference tool all year round and great when setting up your classroom. The wall display comes in two sizes. A4 and A3. That is the brain is either A4 or A3 size depending on how much wall space you have. Personally I use the A3 brain with the speech bubbles from the A4 set. I have also included a black and white brain for the students to color in themselves. Enjoy.

Assembly - Consequences and responsibility

This assembly worked really well, opening with a slide asking if students believed in Karma. It then goes on through various consequences of actions and how scientifically the teen brain is not always capable of thinking about long term consequences, but that students still have to take responsibility for their action. It lasted 15 minutes and was received well. Grab yourself a bargain and save yourself an afternoon of planning. Enjoy

Back to School Icebreakers Game - Blobs and Lines

What is this resource? Blobs and Lines PowerPoint is an icebreaker game that is perfect for the beginning of term and will help pupils get to know each other and feel more comfortable in your classroom without any uncomfortable situations or embarrassing questions. Blobs and Lines focuses on getting to know each other whilst talking on a variety of interesting topics. This game has been created as a bright, colourful animated PowerPoint presentation, complete with 15 questions; all you have to do is set it in slideshow mode and the game will begin after the first slide. No extra equipment is required to play this game.** How does it work? A set of questions asks pupils to either line up in a particular order (by birthday, for example) or gather in groups based on something they have in common (eye colour, for example). This game keeps pupils moving and talking and helps them find things they have in common right away, building a sense of belonging and community in your classroom. There is also a challenge mode on some of the slides which challenges your students to complete the task without talking.

How We Keep You Safe in School (Pre-Ofsted Assembly for KS1 and 2)

A Primary school assembly, written and delivered to our school as we waited for the Ofsted call! This really helped children to understand how we keep them safe, including lots of ways that they are less likely to know about. This really improved the pupil response in both our in-school pupil survey and for Ofsted when they eventually called in November 2023. We were graded good in all areas. Fully editable.

Superheroes! Assembly

Cheaper and more affordable than a posh cocktail or craft ale on a night out (because we all know how much of our own money we spend on our class already!) :) ‘Superheroes!’ is one of a series of outstanding assemblies created for primary school children, which includes full script songs and prayers with a part for every child. This assembly is ready to go! ‘Superheroes’ links with many areas of the National Curriculum, including the: English, Music, Drama, History and PSHE spheres, with a theme that is rooted in upstanding values and is relevant to the children’s everyday lives and interests - including a healthy ‘self-esteem’ injection for all! This assembly is all about recognising the ‘superhero’ in you, giving each child the chance to shine by stating their own unique ‘superhero’ power - from amazing reading skill or artistic genius to the sports star or reliable friend. This assembly also teaches to spot the ‘superhero’ in others and to be thankful for those who support and save us in a hundred little ways every day. There is a part for every child - whether acting, singing, dancing or leading a prayer! Plans created by an Ofsted Good - Outstanding primary school teacher - History and Drama coordinator with over ten years of experience. These outstanding assemblies have consistently engage and excited all 30 performers in class… and have even got the adults in the audience up on their feet!

A small version of the visual timetable for your whiteboard or other display with lots of different options for you to choose from. Includes all usual curriculum stuff but also; book talk, SEAL, maths and literacy activities, joke time, news time - all stuff I'm planning on squeezing in. Lunch and break are in different colours to break up the display. I mounted them on another colour and then laminated. They look really effective and don't take up too much room on the board. Hope someone finds them useful as well.

This package is part of the Wellbeing@School series and contains a webinar on empathy and a resource with five activities built around the empathic behaviour of Gratitude (Gratitude-Keeping track and giving back). The activities can be stand–alone or worked through as a series of lessons. Psychology has found that when empathy is activated, we can observe the expression of gratitude.
