How to Become a Successful TES Author: Step- by- Step Guide
I have created an 8 lesson scheme of work which I will be using after Easter with all of my core PE groups from Y7-9. They are designed to be easily adaptable to allow for changes to be made to suit groups of different abilities / needs. Each practice allows for scaffolding for less able students and progressions for more able students.
Each lesson includes a warm up / starter activity, learning outcomes, a skill development practice with progressions and a game at the end.
The groups I will be working with will generally be fairly low ability for cricket, which means the main focus of this S.O.W is developing batting and fielding skills. I will develop bowling by using underarm / throw downs / drop feeds if necessary. I will also be using these games and skill development practices with my KS4 groups.
Most of the activities in this SOW can be taught in an indoor environment - which is useful due to the weather we are likely to get! We have indoor nets which will allow me to adpat lessons to having some students working on batting / bowling in the nets, and others working on catching skills / fielding on the other side.
I have also included some resource cards for batting, bowling and fielding. I don’t often use them in lessons, although some may find them useful.
Stuck for cover lesson ideas for Core PE? Or wet weather classroom activities?
This is the perfect resource as it includes a wide range of simple, easy to understand activities, suitable for all secondary ages and late primary ages. There are activities such as ‘design a kit’, ‘Personal Profiles’, ‘Wordsearches’, ‘Curriculum Designs’, ‘Word Art’ ‘Circuit Designs’ and more. . . . .
Individual pages can be printed but is best suited as a workbook, that way each student can have their own book and work through it for each ‘wet weather’ classroom lesson they have. No more losing papers and keeping it as a booklet means students can look back at the work they have created!
It is completely editable so you can make it your own and differentiate as you please. The workbook is literally ready for printing!
Please leave feedback :)
I really hope this helps you and your PE Department :)

The lesson plans consists of 10 week schedule covering the following disciplines:
High Jump = 2 weeks, Long Jump, Triple Jump, 100m, 1500m, Relay, Discus, Shot Put, Javelin. There is a scheme of work attacked, plus a record sheet to fill out. I am apologise for any silly mistakes but I am dyslexic.
Designed to aid secondary school PE teachers in giving non participants a productive worksheet to complete if they are unable/it is not relevant for them to coach/umpire during the lesson. The worksheet is generic for any activity and will develop the analytical skills of the pupil. The worksheet will ask the pupil to explore the lesson objectives, the warm up, the coaching points of the skill being taught and to analyse two students of differing abilities. Furthermore, there is a differentiated additional task of designing a new drill/activity with options to increase/decrease the difficulty of the exercise.
** An Ofsted inspector was very impressed with the content of the sheet when questioning a non participant in my group and stated 'an excellent and challenging PE resource for all capabilities' . **
Furthermore, we all have students who like to make up excuses/convince their parents they are too ill for PE so hand you a note to be excused. When they realise there is writing involved in PE each time they manage to be excused from participating they may decide that taking part in the lesson is the a more sensible option! Which is what an outstanding PE teacher should want- all their students to be actively involved if possible.

A benchball unit of work for year groups 5 & 6. The resource provides a unit of work covering 6 lessons. The unit of work shows the key lessons and key points to cover as well as the necessary resources needed. To use the resource, simply follow the framework and modify to suit the needs and abilities of your pupils. You can also use the framework as a base to develop your own unit of work and lesson plans. I have used this framework throughout my teaching career with proven success. In using this framework I have seen major development and progress in pupils of all abilities. I have also used the framework as a base to creating extremely successful competitive school teams both internationally and in the UK.
Do your students know exactly what exam command words mean and how to respond to them successfully?

Set the students straight into the games and ask questions to probe learning, for example 'In four ball hit - Where should you be hitting these balls', 'How can the fielders work together to be successful' 'What techniques can a batter use to hit the ball in a different direction'.
This is a presentation that I have created for our KS3 tutors to use as a dip in resources when they have nothing to do during form time. It includes over 30+ ideas that can be used throughout a term or year.

Students start standard warm up by dribbling and shooting at 6 different baskets. Students on teachers instructions count their scoring percentage (Max 100%).
Students get into ability groups depending on shooting scores from last lesson. These will be made up of 3-4 students.
Teacher asks students in their group to answer how many different basketball shots they can name? Set shot, fade away, drunk, lay up
What is the most used and most successful shot in the NBA? Lay up
Why is this? Fastest and closest way to the basketball hoop, hard to defend against without conceding a foul.
Teacher demonstrates lay up technique up to stage 4.
Students attempt lay up moving up to stage 4.
Students write names on resource card. Students self-reflect on what stage they are currently working at and use the sheet to complete challenges to as high a level as possible. King of the court at
