This resource includes 2 different styles of yoga movement breaks / brain breaks to be used for the classroom; flashcards or round toppers which can be put on top of pens/pencils/lollipop sticks etc. Students can start to lose concentration if they are sat working at a desk/activity for a long period of time, so introduce some fun and jazz up your classroom with these fabulous yoga movement breaks to get your students engaged and focused again. These can be introduced at whatever time interval you deem appropriate - either 10/15 minutes into a work session or first thing in the morning, after break, after lunch etc.You know your students best and you will be able to judge when is best for them. You can either do all the movement breaks at once, or do one every so often throughout the day or even get students to come up the front and choose a movement break as a reward for good working etc. Many researchers and education specialists have stated that movement breaks and physical activity are a great way to get children re-focused to sit back down for an activity. Elephant Stomp is a fun movement song! The aim of this song is to encourage stomping your feet. It is important to use the music to assist anticipating when to stomp. Stomp on the strong beats in the music. The words in bold underline in the lyrics sheet indicate the strong beats. You can choose to stomp on each strong beat or every alternate strong beat if the young person needs more time to co-ordinate this physical action. This package includes 5 items: 1. The song 2. The activity is interactive for students to choose a song. It has an accompanying Visual symbol Board to print out. It was created for students with special needs (SEN) for teaching life skills but can be used as a valuable resource for early years.. Chinese Vegetarian Dumplings: This resource has a notebook and a worksheet. The notebook is designed for the students to use it as a visual sequence when cooking. They have all the ingredients and utensils needed and then an easy to follow recipe. It has an inbuilt shopping activity so that the cooking can be integrated into a shopping program. Within the shopping part which encourages literacy skills, students can choose what they will buy and then make their own shopping list by either writing it or sticking the associated visual onto their shopping list. There are also some integrated literacy skills to match the ingredients as well as some writing sheets. It was created for students with special needs (SEN) for teaching life skills but can be used as a valuable resource for early years literacy. There is an accompanying visual recipe to print.

A series of 8 social stories to help deliver important lessons about personal hygiene and self-care to SEN students. They all contain visuals help pupils to understand concepts about themselves and the world around them. They cover all aspects of personal care and can be used together or in isolation. They look at washing hands, cleaning your teeth, having a shower, using the toilet, blowing your nose and washing your hair and brushing your hair. I have also included a social story highlight what is dirty within their environment.
