Online Safety Assembly

(0)
NEW online safety assembly for 2024. Designed for use with students in UKS2 or LKS3, this interesting, engaging and editable assembly delves into our ever-changing digital landscape, exploring both the advancement of technology over time and what the future may hold as we become increasingly exposed to the dual nature (both helpful and harmful) of artificial intelligence. We will also examine recent changes in legislation for online bullying, specifically the 2023 Online Safety Act, and its implications for both online safety and freedom of speech. The assembly includes a new video created in-house too :) Check out the EC Publishing website for full, affordable PSHE, Citizenship and RE Packages for all year groups including the new 2024 Complete PSHE Package. Celebrating Differences Assembly!

This fun and original assembly aims to assist children in celebrating the differences between themselves and others, through: -Understanding how diversity is needed in the world; -Recognising and valuing the differences in their own school; -Considering how kind words can help us to unite together. I love leading this assembly, because I feel that the key message within it is so vital, especially in the present climate. More importantly, wherever I have presented this (to a wide-range of students from a wide-range of contexts) it has always gone down extremely well, with students being extremely engaged and informing me of the different ways in which they have celebrated differences in the months that follow! The slides are visually engaging and well-presented, and the subject matter is tailored to the interests and needs of young people. For example, there are references to Prince Harry, Emma Watson, and others in popular culture, to help engage the children in the idea that each individual has their own strengths, weaknesses, like and dislikes, no matter who they are or how successful they appear. There is also an exciting ‘toothpaste challenge’ included, which demonstrates the importance of ensuring that our words to others are kind and respectful. The challenge includes a hyperlink to a countdown clock. In addition to this, all other resources that you will need are provided in the pack. The slides are fairly self-explanatory, but I’ve included guidance notes to assist the speaker. Hope that you find this useful!

This fun and original assembly aids children in understanding the value of being creative in all of their endeavours, through: Understanding what creativity is, and recognising why it is such an important skill; Understanding that creativity is a trait within everyone (including themselves) that should be encouraged and harnessed; Observing some amazing examples of what creativity can result in; Learning strategies to demonstrate creativity in their own lives. This assembly is tried and tested, and has always been really well received in the past. The slides are visually engaging and well-presented, and the subject matter is tailored to the interests and needs of young people. The session also includes a fun role-play task to demonstrate how everyone can be creative and the internet link to a beautiful, thought-provoking video demonstrating the power of creativity. There are also various discussion prompts to enable children to understand how they can be creative in different areas of their own lives. The slides are fairly self-explanatory, but I’ve included guidance notes to assist the speaker. Hope that you find this useful!

Back to School Icebreakers Game - Blobs and Lines

(0)
What is this resource? Blobs and Lines PowerPoint is an icebreaker game that is perfect for the beginning of term and will help pupils get to know each other and feel more comfortable in your classroom without any uncomfortable situations or embarrassing questions. Blobs and Lines focuses on getting to know each other whilst talking on a variety of interesting topics. This game has been created as a bright, colourful animated PowerPoint presentation, complete with 15 questions; all you have to do is set it in slideshow mode and the game will begin after the first slide. No extra equipment is required to play this game.** How does it work? A set of questions asks pupils to either line up in a particular order (by birthday, for example) or gather in groups based on something they have in common (eye colour, for example). This game keeps pupils moving and talking and helps them find things they have in common right away, building a sense of belonging and community in your classroom. There is also a challenge mode on some of the slides which challenges your students to complete the task without talking.
