18 Spring themed home learning tasks for Nursery or Reception (Early Years) There are a total of 18 activities that can easily be done at home split over two sheets. Activities are practical using items children will have at home. There are key questions to guide parents delivering the activities at home. The activities are topic based. They cover all areas of the EYFS curriculum. There are art projects, research ideas, cooking, movement, imaginative etc. There are no stand alone phonics or number activities but these subjects are touched upon in other activities e.g. where writing, stories or patterns are involved. A frame for children to draw a picture of their family in. We printed and laminated them once completed to stick up in the home corner like family photos!

A Halloween themed resource to support teaching repeating patterns (2 and 3 repeats) Power point activity for the interactive whiteboard where children need to complete the repeating patterns. They will develop the skills to identify, describe and continue patterns, Differentiated cut and stick activity where children can then independently complete repeating patterns and also make their own. Children will practise the skills to identify, describe and continue patterns, The cutting also develops fine motor skills. The patterns have pictures missing both at the end and in the middle and the resources include patterns with 2 and 3 repeats.

Christmas themed subtraction problems for Reception (challenge) or Year 1. Pictures used to represent numbers as a very simple introduction to algebra.

Information for parents about how to use an Advent Calendar to support maths development. Suitable for early maths and number skills in Reception or Nursery. Also instructions and a template for making their own advent calendar. This is not only a nice activity for parent and child to do together but ensures that all the children can have a calendar even if their parents cannot afford to buy one.

12 home learning activities covering different areas of maths in a Christmas festive theme. Activities are all fun and practical and can be done easily at home with items commonly found in a house. There is information for parents to help them facilitate the activities too. Activities include baking, making shape pictures, counting decorations. Areas covered include: number recognition counting skills shape, space and measure work writing numerals I asked children to choose 2 activities per week to complete and put an observation on Tapestry but you could alter this to suit your needs. Good to send out if children are away, isolating or if the class is shut, or just as regular home learning to support work done in class.
