A couple of pieces that I wrote about Kenya when I had an English tutor. One looks at the naming traditions of the Kikuyu tribe whilst the other looks at the typical days of a 10 year old girl both during holiday time and on a normal school day. These sheets might be useful for introducing pupils to the differences between the UK and Kenya.

Here are a couple of sheets I made for one of our classes that was making bird feeders. One of the two sheets is a matching exercise where the pupils have to draw lines to link up the pictures of the birds with their names and descriptions. The other sheet is related to why the number of garden birds are decreasing and formed the basis for a piece of research that they needed to do.

An A3 page border with a DT theme using some of the tool images that I've uploaded seperately to TES.

A 5 minute sound file that has been used to simulate an air raid at school and my Cub Scout Pack. It starts with an air raid siren, then has explosion sound effects before finishing with the all clear. We have used it separately and in association with my Child's War Quiz (WW1 & WW2), We pushed some tables together and covered them with a sheet / tarp to make an shelter. A smoke machine was used for extra effect.

A few sheets to make up a TEACCH Tools activity where special needs students (autism) have to match the tool to its name.

A descriptive writing task based after the events of the Hobbit but staring the books main characters. I've written a synopsis for the events I thought might take place but the pupils need to flesh out the story with some descriptive writing. I suspect the level at the moment is probably too high but I'm uploading it here in case anyone likes the idea and wants to tweak it a bit to make it suitable. This was another one of the items that I wrote for my English tutor.

A sheet showing young people the different flag positions for the alphabet / numbers in semaphore. This could be used to examine communication and how it only works if both people are paying attention and understand what you are saying.

An A4 sheet with the lyrics to the song Jambo Jambo Bwana.

This is a set of sheets (the set I used, I laminated) that you can use to record the completion of a staged set of swimming activities. These are based upon the Scout Staged Swimming Badges but our PE teacher also decided they were useful as he felt they formed a nice progression that was suitable for our Special Needs students. The sheets have the room to write on a students name and then space to tick off each activity as they complete it. (You'll need a permanent marker to write on a laminated sheet.)

Here are a series of 4 differentiated worksheets to help students create a persuasive poster encouraging people to buy Bug Houses that they were producing as part of their Design and Technology lessons. This set of posters formed part of an observed lesson and was designed to show cross curricular links with English. (As we currently have a focus on writing within our school.) We started the lesson by showing the students a variety of adverts and talking about the features they use.

A booklet of various easy to pick up and follow songs enjoyed by the Cub age group (8 to 10 1/2 years old). I've uploaded it here incase anyone can find any use for these songs in school or on school residential experiences. Alternatively if you are a Cub leader all you probably need do is change the front cover. Though we don&'t want no 'Someones verbing lord, Kum ba Ay' verses (I was telling the Cubs how to make other verses not giving them another one to sing!)

A Birthdays List and Class Door Sign that I made for use in our Special Need's School. The basic template I made may save you making one from scratch. If I find any other versions that I&'ve designed I&';ll edit this post and add them to it.

ActivExpression Quiz - Answers included to enable use as a paper based quiz. Focuses on events that would have affected children including: Rationing, Evacuation and Air Raids. Some teaching slides included within the quiz. Last slide required 'Air Raid Sound Effect&' that I&';ve uploaded separately. (Due to size restrictions.) If you are from outside the North East you may wish to modify one quiz slide and two teaching slides.

A set of A4 pages that I printed out and laminated with Road Sign borders (feel free to edit it to use this part of the card) to give the meanings of various UK road signs. The Cubs then walked around the local area taking photos of road signs with the correct page of the booklet shown in the photo. We decided this was a bit more fun than sitting in the hut identifying signs. Hopefully it might come in useful to some other people.

A worksheet that asks students to match pictures of tools to their names by drawing a line between them. Designed for lower ability students. Originally made for use with some of our students working at the lower national curriculum levels in the Special School I work at for Children with Autism.

A set of pages designed to be printed out at A4 and put up around a room. Contains Cardinal Points (N, E, S, W) down to Secondary Intercardinal Points (NNE, ENE, etc...) Can then be used to help students know which way to run when playing the North East South West game (where they have to run to the right place) and similar games. Also includes the bearings to allow a bit of variation. Was originally produced for use in our Scout Hut with Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.

A worksheet that is designed to help teach students how to annotate their research to help them gain higher grades in examinations later in their school lives. This resource was made for the autistic students from the Special School that I work at. It is also designed in a way to encourage the students to have to do some written work and to give them a degree of choice. This resource now contains 3 different differentiations of the 2nd sheet (the page the pupils need to write on).

An Assembly Template that I made for one of the teachers at the school I work at. It includes a visual timetable and a couple of songs (no music but I've left the slides with the lyrics in place). This assembly also still includes our central main piece that was on the topic of 'Ordinary People doing Extraordinary Things' - it includes a link to the YouTube video we showed during the assembly.

A just over 3 minutes looping PowerPoint showing some of the work the Children's Society does. I made this to display before our Christingle Service but it could be used separately.

A number of worksheets to cover a project where the pupils make a storage tray. The first sheet covers shading, 2nd writing a design brief and explaining who the product is targetted at, 3rd ACCESS FM Analysis, 4th Ergonomics and Specification, 5th Handle Design and types of joint, 6th Final Design and the last page Development and Testing and Evaluation.
