Sequence Ratio Worksheet - Differentiated

Sequence Ratio Worksheet - Differentiated

(14)
This is a nice activity to introduce the idea of ratio, by using sequences. Suitable for KS2. I found it useful to use pieces of card (e.g. 1 yellow for every 2 blue) to visually demonstrate beforehand (using volunteers - each holding the correct ratio) and show how to record this into a table on the whiteboard as you go, before using this resource as the main activity. I also allowed children to use counters at their table to aid them whilst completing the worksheet, as this was very beneficial to some learners.
Fractions & Ratio Worksheet (Personalised)
Miss-BeckyMiss-Becky

Fractions & Ratio Worksheet (Personalised)

(7)
A consolidating activity for KS3. Two worksheets to choose from. Edit your chosen worksheet to input the first names of the children in your class. The children can then work out the fraction and ratio of their names that fall into certain criteria. Worksheet 1: Relies just on the first names of the children in the class, with no other knowledge required (e.g. number of vowels in the name) Worksheet 2: Also requires research or prior knowledge of the others in the class before successfully completing the worksheet. This worksheet can help children to discover the link between fractions and ratio.

Write it Right - Written Calculation Game - Year 6 Maths - KS2 SATs Revision - Board Game Format

(3)
I created this as a four week homework programme for my Year 6s to practise their calculation methods whilst encouraging parental involvement. After a parent workshop to introduce the methods my school uses to teach the main calculation methods (not included), each child took home a game board (included) and one set of calculation cards each week (included) as their maths homework for 4 weeks: Week 1: Addition Week 2: Subtraction Week 3: Multiplication Week 4: Division I asked the children to record who they had played the game against at home and encouraged them to play for 10 minutes a day to practise their written methods. I have seen huge improvements in my Year 6 class's written calculation skills as a consequence and many parents have commented how it has helped them to understand the calculation methods too. I designed this as a fun game to practise the written methods of calculation. Although I chose the option of encouraging the link between home and school and asking the parents to join in too, alternatively you might decide that the game is best in your school to be played in the classroom as a morning starter or within intervention sessions. A set of instructions is included. Please note, fraction questions are not included in this game, as I wanted it to focus purely on numerical written methods. I am currently working on differentiated packs of cards so that this game can also be given to younger year groups. A lot of time and love has gone into this project, and I hope you and your class enjoy it. I'd appreciate any feedback.

Table Splat! (Times Tables Game)
Miss-BeckyMiss-Becky

Table Splat! (Times Tables Game)

(22)
A game that can be played in pairs, threes or independently. Please note that this game focuses on times tables facts from 2 to 10 to ensure children are confident in these tables before progressing to the 11s and 12s, which will need to be taught subsequently. Children need a 'Table Splat' mat and counters (different coloured counters for each child). Children take turns to turn over a card, revealing a times tables question. The child who is the first to place their counter on the correct answer (whilst shouting 'SPLAT!') can leave their counter on the board. The winner is the player with the most counters on the board once all of the times table cards have been used. Differentiate by choosing the multiplication cards relevant for that child, depending on which times table they are currently working on. *Update: 6s and 9s have been underlined, to avoid confusion.* Save money when bought as part of a bundle.
