This lesson takes the students through the causes, events, consequences and importance of the building of the Berlin Wall. Task Sheet 1: A printable comprehension sheet about the causes, events and consequences Task Sheet 2: A sort task (see image) where students read each statement and decide if the fact is a cause, an event or a consequence of the building of the wall. This is a jam packed lesson which covers the Berlin Crisis of 1948-49. There are a wide choice of resources to select from and easy to follow visual steps to help your students follow the narrative of the events. As with all of my other lessons, it includes everything you will need to teach the topic without having to use the text book as a fact sheet has been produced which can be found at the end of the lesson. STARTER: A simplified map of Europe -the students have to identify Germany and describe what has happened to it after the war. Add some more fun and competition to your classroom with this fully interactive teaching tool based on the 1980s/90s gameshow Blockbusters! The aim is for each team/individual to answer enough questions correctly to create a ‘block’ of lines from either top/bottom or left/right. Once in presentation mode, the game is fully animated and interactive to change the colour of each block into the colours of the teams. I have included three different versions of the game to better suit widescreen or standard computer screens as well as a fully editable teacher answer sheet on which you can type out the questions you want to ask. All you need to do is add your own questions and letters and away you go. Have fun!!!

This lesson looks at the development of aseptic surgery, x-rays and blood transfusions and their limits at the start of the war. In this lesson, students will be able to investigate the main reasons for Anne Boleyn’s downfall and her eventual execution in 1536. The lesson is suited for or could easily be adapted for students aged 12-16 This lesson examines the following questions relating to Anne Boleyn: What crimes was Anne Boleyn accused of? How had Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII’s relationship declined by 1536? What were the main reasons for the downfall and execution of Anne Boleyn?
