The students make decisions which affect the number of people who live or die during an outbreak of avian flu in the UK. Promotes good discussion amongst the students as to their choices. This task allows students to examine and evaluate pieces of opposing evidence, for and against Man landing on the Moon. It can be used as part of a space topic, or as a standalone lesson. It was created as an interview lesson. It will require reading the Wikipedia page on Moon landing conspiracies first (link provided in lesson plan) as this lesson generates lots of questions from students.

It asks the students to complete the path of a laser as it is reflected off a series of mirrors to a detector. They have to work out the angles of incidence and reflection. Requires a protractor. This is a lesson on variation. It involves an activity where the class are split into groups, each one getting a feature of their classmates to measure. They then produce a graph of the their results. The graphs can be compared and types of continuous and discontinuous variation discussed. Resources needed: Tape measures, meter rulers and graph paper. Several printouts of the experiment sheet will also be needed.
