I’ve been working on creating a series of workbooks for GCSE Computer Science. I used a block based structure to plan the course and therefore the workbooks I’ve attached (in files) reflect that. Block 1 - Understanding the machine Block 2 - Computer hardware and software Block 3 - Networks Block 4 - Programming Block 5 - Issues surrounding the use of computer science technology. There is a teacher version and student version. They’re very versatile, they could be used as a revision activity, good for differentiation, build on from flipped learning or a good remote learning activity - these workbooks have worked well for my students during lock-down/closures.

Here is a sample copy of an algorithm booklet I’m currently producing. It includes 12 challenges that progressively get more difficult or introduces them to something new. Attached is a set of solutions too (OCR Exam Reference and Coded answers provided) Just to give you some flexibility into whether you want them to write algorithms out, code it or both! It’s only the basics, I will update you when the rest is complete.

This is the sample of a comprehensive revision plan to use with your students in the run to the examination. This uses an interleaving learning strategy which will allow students to re-visit topics with regularly. This sample includes: Knowledge retrieval starter Exam questions Mark Scheme This sample covers only a section of the specification. I will uploading more as the weeks go on.

This pack includes a set of exam style questions using a scaffolded approach. A strategy that can be used to develop student’s skills in answering 12-mark questions. This is a sample of five topics from the OCR GCSE Computer Science course and it’s designed for ‘first time teaching’. This pack contains: A full lesson with objectives, knowledge retrieval starter, exam practise, concept map, new information which includes videos that lead to in-class discussions. Activities that support the objectives of the lesson. Answers provided. Self-checker tool - A link to duplicate copies of multiple choice quizzes done in Microsoft Forms which can be copied and send to your students. Knowledge capture - A skills audit to allow students to RAG their level of understanding, a teacher feedback and student feedback section provided. At the back is a set of exam-style questions for each topic which gives the teacher a snapshot of their understanding. An outline of the teaching for Block 1. This is information for the student with extra information on delivery of content, something that could easily be transferred into a scheme of work. Full versions will be premium resources and will be available on TES shortly.

This is a sample lesson from a digital graphics unit which will be released on TES soon. Each lesson will include: Lesson slides with objectives, keywords and class based discussions. Student style workbooks with can be a good substitute to traditional lessons if you like to use flipped learning. A teacher version has been provided with answers. Worksheet to supplement the lesson and this includes answers. All activities include a stretch and challenge task for your most able. Each lesson will include a short MCQ that can act as a plenary/review (Using MS Forms)

A full revision guide that includes up to 60 different types of low-stakes activities that covers the entire R093 specification is designed so students can revise through Section A style questions. An additional revision guide (Part B) to follow which focusses on topics in more depth and tailored towards the Section B style of the paper. Both guides come with an answer/teacher version. Sample version is also available.

This is a sample lesson for R094: Visual identity and digital graphics for the new Creative iMedia qualification.
