This Year 5/6 English interview lesson on openers and effective writing has been rated Outstanding by Ofsted inspectors. It can be flexibly used from 20 minutes to an hour.
Children will produce a piece of descriptive writing based on a film clip and learn how to use a range of sentence openers effectively.
It includes: lesson plan, PowerPoint presentation, mild, spicy and hot task and starter activity.
Children will reflect upon their writing and evaluate an example of writing in terms of vocabulary and openers. They will use ADDSPICE openers to create writing that is exciting and varied. (Adverbs, Drop in clause, describe, simile, preposition, -ing word, connective, -ed word)

This Year 5/6 English interview lesson on relative clauses and effective writing has been rated Outstanding by Ofsted inspectors. It can be flexibly used from 20 minutes to an hour.
