Here is the link to the upd8 website with the pupil activity. Pupils complete the activity in groups where they decide who they would like to give face transplants to. I assess my pupils in AF1 for this, they complete the word documents attached, there are 2 levels.

I tell my puils to research a particular dog breed. I give the poster frame for those who need it. They then answer questions for AF2 on the worksheet which has a level ladder.

Here is a challenge homework sheet I prepared for my Year 6 class for the light topic. They choose one idea and make a poster or leaflet to show their understanding of the topic. This could be used as a challenge/extension for higher ability pupils.

Pupils do the upd8 activity to learn about the differences between diamond (an element) and moissanite (a compound). I got them to make models of diamond and moissanite atoms with cocktail sticks and plasticine. They evaluated the models for AF1, the worksheet has questions for AF2.
