I have uploaded 3 weeks worth of resources to support the teaching of KS1 children writing a report on Antarctica, using the book Lost and Found as a starting stimulus. Lessons are adapted to ensure all abilities are catered for. Resources including writing lessons and reading lessons.

I have uploaded my 2 week Colour Poetry unit which includes SPaG, reading and writing lessons leading towards writing their own colour poem. Differentiation of tasks is evident. VIPERS reading sessions include explaination and retrieval, with some ‘stand alone’ reading lessons included away from the topic.

Here are resources for 1 week for my Off Phonics children. This pack includes the text for the week (DISCLAIMER I did not write the text, just edited to suit my children), 3 reading lessons (based on VIPERS) and a writing lesson aimed as a free write, based on the text. My group contains some VERY high ability Year 2’s, HA Year 2 children and some HA Year 1 children. Rather than adapt tasks, I adapt through support and extension.

The activities are differentiated and colour coded: B tasks (basic skills needed in red), A tasks (advancing/applying skills in orange) and D tasks (deep understanding in green). These are planned alongside the White Rose Scheme. I have also uploaded the pre/post assessment to match as a separate document, so these work alongside the resources.

To accompany my All Around The World resources unit, I have uploaded the child knowledge organiser with key information as well as the 6 key questions that will be taught across the half term. This also includes what the children will already know and old/new key vocabulary.

It ensures the parents know the expectations for all papers, with tips and tricks on how they can support at home. I also printed a past paper for each of the papers for the parents to take home and share with their child.

Use these ‘starter’ activities to get your children used to answering a variety a maths questions in an arithmetic way. The questions are mostly designed to recap past learning of addition and subtraction within 20, including number sentences with missing numbers and using a number line.

These resources are aimed at a Year 1 cohort in September, mostly focusing on the Science objectives about the 5 senses and main body parts. There are also resources that cover Geography objectives (capital cities and counties in the UK), writing opportunities, whole class reading resources and music ideas.

I have uploaded my ‘How To Catch A Star’ instruction writing unit which lasted for 2 and half weeks with my mixed Year 1/2 class. The jounrey includes reading lessons (Vocabulary, Retrieval ahd Sequencing Vipers), SPaG for both Yr 1 (capital letters and full stops) and Yr 2 (adverbs with a recap of adjectives and nouns). Along the way, ‘Going Deeper’ challenges aim to push greater depth children. The pack also includes an end piece of paper to support layout and presentation.
