Treasure Island Diary
Unit of work following the abridged version of Treasure Island edited by Pauline Francis in the ‘Fast Track Classics’ collection.
I think this could be easily adapted/extended to follow the original text.
SEN Handbook
6 page SEN handbook with basic information on SEN, teachers responsibilities to SEN learners and strategies to troubleshoot various issues e.g. off task behavior, organisation, time management, specific learning difficulties etc. There is also a section on exams and exam technique that can be given to students to support them with assessments.
Superheroes
A bundle of work loosely themed around superheroes. You can easily adapt the wording an images to suit the interests of your students. covers creative writing, persuasive writing and using speech.
Differentiation Techniques and Teaching Techniques
A list of over 30 ways to differentiate broken up into no effort, low effort, medium effort and 'the extra mile' to support teachers to quickly and easily differentiate in lessons. Also, a large bank of teaching techniques to use in the classroom to make lessons engaging.
Pirate map coordinates
An introduction to coordinates through a buried treasure game. Once the island is drawn and the treasure buried students can play a battleships style coordinates game to find each others treasure or could design questions about their island for peers to answer.

The Charge of the Light Brigade (Poetry power and conflict)

Tresure Island
A scheme of work based on an abridged copy of Treasure Island from the Fast Track Classics series by Pauline Francis. This includes a diary of questions and activities that follow the story and test comprehension of the text. There are also some extended activities based on the original text including some practical activities.
I used this unit of works over 12 lessons with a group of ASD students in Year 7 and 8.
