About Eggar's School

Eggar's School is a co-educational academy school based in Hampshire for students aged 11-16.

It is situated at one end of the historic Wey Valley, beneath the wooded slopes of the Hampshire Downs. In 1968 the school moved from its original site to the modern buildings and spacious grounds it now occupies at Holybourne. In 2012 the school became an academy.

The school has a house system. Each student and member of staff is put into one of three houses.

Over the last 5 years the school has been one of the highest performing schools in Hampshire.

Values and vision

Eggar's School wants itself to be a safe and happy community that cares about developing its students’ personal potential and independence. It wishes to ensure that all students have equal access to a curriculum that offers opportunities for academic, physical, social, moral, and spiritual development. The school cares about providing and promoting opportunities which encourage students to find value in trust and to develop self-discipline as well as self-esteem. The school also has the aim of working in partnership with parents and the community, in an attempt to serve their learning and interests as well. Finally, the school also has the goal of encouraging its students to become responsible and active citizens so that they can recognise and challenge inequalities in society.
