Our multicultural school is in the heart of Croydon, south London. We are a larger than average primary with a nursery and are very much mission and values led.  Our values - Passion, Urgency, Positivity, Aspiration and Commitment – are at the heart of everything we do. 

Our culture

We have extremely high expectations for learning and behaviour, hence our Ofsted rating of ‘outstanding’ for behaviour.  Pupils feel safe, valuable and respected with us, and as a Rights Respecting School, we create many opportunities for them to take leading roles throughout the school. This means our pupils become very confident and self-assured individuals.

Why work with us?

We are committed to high quality staff development. Currently we are engaged in research projects and development work with partners including Future Leaders, Teaching Leaders, Teach First, NCETM and Roehampton University. 

As part of STEP Academy trust, we also provide regular opportunities for staff to share good practice with other teachers within the Trust. We are committed to developing national and international partner schools, and teachers have had the opportunity to work with schools in Cornwall, Devon, Nigeria, Norway and France.

Location 

Gonville Academy has excellent transport links, being close to Thornton Heath bus garage and train station. There is easy access to central Croydon, Streatham and Brixton as well as being a short train journey away from central London.
